Always in the Mitten

The past week has been the quintessential Casa de Sonday vacation: intense amounts of food; specifically blueberries, tons of friends (Jesse for several days, Dov and Oren, Rashel, many others), beekeeping galore, and several swims in the lake. I’ve been working my butt off getting ready to drive to Atlanta (hereafter referred to as ‘Hotlanta’) for my sister’s bridal shower this weekend. Mom and I need to get some books on tape for the journey. I haven’t actually checked how long we’ll be on the road, to be honest, but this has been the summer of driving and fewer than 20 hours seems very manageable at this point.

Working on what?, you might ask. Well, besides taking care of the beez, I’ve been setting up the beez’ website. It’s open, though we haven’t made any grand announcements yet. I’ve put up a ton of design work on it, mostly in the greeting card section, so it’s been a pretty cathartic experience getting it all done. There are a few entries in the bee blog loosely explaining what we’re up to, even though it hasn’t exactly kept up-to-date.

There isn’t really a lot to say right now. I’m baking all the time, eating way too much food, enjoying my time spent around here and on the farm…the usual. Maybe I’ll have more upon our return from Hotlanta. ‘Til then.

    1) The term “Hotlanta” is stupid.
    2) It’s almost exactly 12 hours with a dog.
    3) Let me know what your route is? Mom took an extra hour because of some advice from someone who didn’t know what they were talking about.
