The Saddest Music in the World

….is the same music that plays in your head when the half gallon jar of honey you were lifting out of the sink breaks.

Broken jars and broken hearts.

Three pounds literally down the drain. The other three that we managed to save will be given back to the bees. They can clean tiny slivers of glass out of it better than human hands ever could, and they deserve it anyway. Still, this was one beautiful Mason jar, while it lasted (and trust me, the manufacturer will be getting a polite but firm letter asking why oh why oh why?! this might have happened. It was a gentle tap on the side that completely shattered it).

But besides that, the honey harvest was great. Dov and I got about 45 pounds (so, 39 after the jar incident) and bottled it up, some of which you can buy on the website. Hooray!

We also had a few friends drop by the house. I insisted they look at our giant spider, which is still eating many bees, and still holds my obsession and affection. Honestly. It’s so delightful I can’t even tell you.
